Greetings! Thank you for taking the next step to helping someone on their journey into the trades industry. On Monday June 19th you’re invited to join us at Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, RI. This is Matt’s on Mendons’ largest charity event of the year and our way of giving back to all of YOU and to those in need.
We’ve found the most effective way for us to serve you during this event was to create an “all-inclusive” type of package, here’s what's included when you register:
I’d like to share an opportunity with you in just a brief read. With the rising cost of living I understand a lot of people are struggling and wondering about their future. While some are already set up for success, others are just getting started. Graduation season is upon us, and I’ve been reflecting on the career option I chose when I was 18 years I didn't have many choices as I had not gained acceptance to the colleges to which I applied. Low test scores and lack of credentials were my downfall.
My option, therefore, was going into the trades. All of you must know someone who has taken this path. In the past it was looked down upon by our peers and those who envisioned differently for our lives. As we see today, there is an ever growing need for people in all trades. Here is what came to my mind and my heart: to give back to the trade that has given so much to me. I want to help and also encourage someone with their journey
This is where you can help give someone in the trades a little encouragement. With your assistance, I will be offering a scholarship to Rob Roy Academy of Barbering and Cosmetology. This scholarship will be based on merit, GPA, attendance, and disciplinary records in school. It will not be given necessarily to the most gifted, but perhaps to someone who struggles a bit more than others every day. Rob Roy Academy was pleased when I approached them, and informed me that this will be the first scholarship anyone has ever awarded to the academy. We have the opportunity to give someone an incentive, a boost of confidence, a chance, and some economic relief in tough times.
I figured we would make this a fun event, and as a lover of all things golf related, I’ve set up what I hope will be the first annual “Matt’s on Mendon Scholarship Golf Tournament”. If golf is not your thing and you would still like to donate anything at all please follow the link below. If you cannot give, please share this with everyone you think would be interested. Thank you for reading; it's never easy sharing your story, but if it can help one person it is worth it. “Each person should give what they have decided in their heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
